Programme Aims
With the increase in the public concerns for environmental issues and the huge investment in infrastructure development, the environmental engineering industry has a very good prospect. The programme is a cross-disciplinary professional study of environmental engineering and green construction to align with the local development needs. It ties in closely with the sustainable development of Hong Kong and its manpower needs. Graduates have ample opportunities for career development or further study.

The programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.
Professional Recognition
The programme is widely accepted by the industry. It is accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers as a required academic qualification for their Associate Membership. Recognition from other relevant professional bodies will also be sought.

Graduates completed the required module of the programme will be issued with Green Cards which fulfills the Mandatory Basic Safety Training requirement for working in construction sites.

Graduates with relevant work experience are eligible to apply for exemption for some modules of the Professional Certificate in Environmental Management for Construction (Environmental Officer). The Professional Certificate is recognised by the Development Bureau as a qualification that satisfies the requirement of the Environmental Officer Course as stated in Appendix C of ETWB Technical Circular (Works) No. 19/2005. With Vplus Engineering under the Vplus Subsidy Scheme, eligible students may apply up to 60% reimbursement of their tuition fee.
