Design Graduate Awarded in HKSES
設計課程畢業生榮獲香港卓越獎學金

TO Kwong Chak Martin, a 2025 DVB(Design) graduate, has been awarded under the prestigious Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme (HKSES).
Each HKSES awardee receives a full scholarship and bursary of up to HK$1.5M. Martin is now pursuing his studies in Architecture and Landscape at the University of Sheffield in the UK.
During his three years at YCI, Martin flourished under YCI’s learning environment that encouraged creativity, technical refinement, and industry engagement. Supported by project‑based learning and teacher mentorship, he developed strong design capabilities that led him to earn the Merit Award in the Conceptual Category and become the sole recipient of the Student Award in the Product Group at an annual event organised by the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association.

2025 年職專國際文憑(設計)畢業生杜光澤,榮獲教育局頒發的 香港卓越獎學金(HKSES)。
每位HKSES得獎者可獲得高達150萬港幣的全額獎學金和助學金。杜同學現於英國謝菲爾德大學攻讀建築及園景設計學位。
在YCI的三年裡,杜同學在充滿創意與工藝追求的學習氛圍中逐步成長。透過專題式學習與老師的悉心指導,他磨練出紮實的設計能力,並以此在香港出口商會年度比賽中脫穎而出,奪得概念組優異獎,更成為產品組唯一的學生獲獎者。

Design and Sport Graduates Awarded the Wu Ho Loo Ning Scholarship
運動及設計畢業生榮獲伍何露寧獎學金

Three outstanding DVB graduates have been awarded the Wu Ho Loo Ning Scholarship in recognition of their academic excellence, exemplary leadership and remarkable contributions to community service. Each recipient receives HK$140,000 to pursue bachelor’s degree programmes at THEi, empowering them to further advance their professional development and academic aspirations.

三名表現優異的職專國際文憑畢業生,憑藉卓越的學術成就、領導才能及傑出的社會服務表現,獲頒伍何露寧獎學金,獲十四萬港元資助升讀 THEi 高科院學士學位課程,繼續拓展其專業發展之路。

YCI Students Sweep Four Awards in CLP Low Carbon Invention Competition
中電低碳發明比賽中大放異彩




Our talented DVB(Engineering) students have achieved outstanding results in the 3rd CLP Low Carbon Invention Competition, showcasing innovative solutions for a sustainable future. Competing in the Secondary School category, our students won four out of six awards by making a strong impression with projects that integrate low-carbon technologies and creative problem-solving. The competition was co‑organized by CLP Power Hong Kong and City University of Hong Kong, attracting over 800 students.

  • Champion: YUEN Sze Yan (Year 1) for "Autonomous EcoStorage Hub" – An island-based storage facility powered by nuclear and solar energy, using autonomous robots, drones, and ships for efficient, zero-carbon storage of essential assets like archives, artifacts, and supplies.
  • Third Place: CHENG Kin Tat Kinder (Year 3) "Nuclear-Powered Autonomous Train"
  • Merit Award: WONG Boonnisa Zeen (Year 1) "PureCity GreenCycle"
  • Merit Award: CHAN Charissa (Year 2) "Black Soldier Fly Factory"
職專國際文憑(工程)學生在第三屆中電低碳發明比賽中表現卓越,憑藉創新方案展現推動可持續發展未來的潛力。在中學組別中,本校學生以融合低碳科技及創意思維的項目脫穎而出,勇奪六個獎項其中四個。比賽由中華電力有限公司與香港城市大學合辦,吸引了超過800名學生參加,競爭尤為激烈 。

  • 冠軍:袁詩欣(一年級),「Autonomous EcoStorage Hub」獲獎 ---- 作品理念為以人工島嶼為基礎的儲存設施,以核能及太陽能供電,利用自主機械人、無人機及無人船隻,高效、無碳排放地儲存如檔案、文物及供應品等重要資產。
  • 季軍:鄭建達(三年級)「Nuclear-Powered Autonomous Train」
  • 優異獎:黃苑娗(一年級)「PureCity GreenCycle」

Engineering Students Triumph at Code for Good 2025
工程學生於Code for Good 比賽勇奪殊榮

This year, one of the winning teams was a collaborative group featuring students from HKIIT and YCI Engineering. Competing against teams from various tertiary institutions, our students drew on the coding, problem-solving, and technical skills honed through the Engineering programme to address real-world challenges posed by non-profit organisations. Their innovative technology solutions, strong technical expertise, and excellent teamwork impressed the judges and earned them a well-deserved victory. This achievement highlights how our students are using technology to create positive social impact.

在今年賽事,其中一支獲勝隊伍由HKIIT及YCI工程課程的學生組成。他們與來自其他專上院校的隊伍同場競技,運用在工程課程中培養的編程、解難及技術能力,應對非牟利機構提出的真實社會挑戰。憑藉創新科技方案、扎實技術實力及出色團隊合作,他們贏得評審高度讚賞。這項成就充分展現我們學生如何透過科技為社會帶來正面影響。

Engineering Students Secure Third Place in Entrepreneurship Competition
工程學生於創業比賽勇奪季軍

Organised by the Kowloon City Youth Advancement Association, co-organised by China Merchants Securities International and HKU Youth Innovation and Technology Academy, the Entrepreneurship Competition aimed to enhance secondary students’ business literacy and comprehensive abilities. It featured real-world business case analysis, brainstorming, and pitch presentations with 10 elite secondary school teams shortlisted for the final round. After an intense competition, YCI team proudly secured third place. This achievement highlights our students’ strong entrepreneurial thinking, teamwork, and presentation skills, as well as their ability to apply learning to real-world contexts.

招陽聯”萌””育”見美好金融進社區之創業大賽由九龍城青年協進會主辦、招商證券國際及香港大學青年科創學院協辦、並獲招商局慈善基金會贊助。大賽旨在提升中學生的商業素養與綜合能力,共10支精英隊伍晉身決賽,各隊圍繞真實商業案例展開分析與演說,於決賽中激烈角逐。最終,YCI 隊憑藉出色表現,成功摘得季軍。這項殊榮充分展現了YCI學生在企業思維、團隊合作及演說技巧方面的出色表現。

YCI Student Wins Silver Medal at 11th Daedo Taekwondo Open Championships in Singapore
運動學生於新加坡奪得第11屆Daedo跆拳道公開錦標賽銀牌

DVB(Sport) student, FONG Yu Ching Maximos, represented the Hong Kong SAR, and competed in the Junior Male 68-73kg category, securing a silver medal through his exceptional skill, discipline, and determination throughout the competition. Maximos’s success reflects not only his rigorous training and technical prowess but also the strong support from YCI, which nurtures students’ athletic talents alongside their academic development.

職專國際文憑(運動) 學生方宇正代表香港特別行政區出戰,在青少年男子68-73公斤級別中憑藉出色的技巧、紀律與堅定意志,成功奪得銀牌。這項成就展現了方同學的刻苦訓練與技術實力,亦充分體現YCI對學生運動才能與學業發展的全面支持。

Design Student Impressed Audiences at TEDxHKDI
設計學生登上TEDxHKDI演講舞台

Third year design student Chiu Ho Yin impressed audiences at TEDxHKDI with his talk, “Handcrafted Clothes in the Age of AI: Safeguarding Traditional Skills.” He highlighted the emotional and cultural significance of clothing while advocating for the preservation of traditional tailoring in a digital era.
Raised in the digital generation, Chiu has long used fabric to tell stories, blending craftsmanship with innovation to create a unique aesthetic.
This year’s TEDxHKDI theme, “Humanity by Design: Creativity in the Age of AI,” underscored design as more than aesthetics—it is a bridge connecting people across generations.

設計課程三年級學生招浩弦登上 TEDxHKDI 演講舞台,展現卓越風采,令人印象深刻。
招同學的演講主題為《Handcrafted Clothes in the Age of AI: Safeguarding Traditional Skills》。他不僅探討服裝的製作,更深入剖析其背後所承載的情感與身份認同。在科技迅猛發展的時代,他支持傳承古老的製衣技術,展現出對文化的尊重與創意的堅持。
儘管招同學成長於數碼世代,他從小就展開創意旅程,透過布料訴說故事,將傳統工藝與創新設計巧妙融合,展現出獨特的美學視角。
本屆 TEDxHKDI 以《Humanity by Design: Creativity in the Age of AI》為主題,強調設計不僅是美學的展現,更是連結人心與世代的橋樑。
