Two YCI Design Students Receive Dr Ng Tat-lun Memorial Outstanding Students Award YCI兩名設計課程學生榮獲「伍達倫博士紀念傑出學生奬勵計劃」奬學金

Two YCI Design students have been awarded the 2025–2026 Dr Ng Tat-lun Memorial Outstanding Students Award in recognition of their exceptional achievements. Year 3 student Chiu Ho Yin and Year 2 student Lee Hiu Ching distinguished themselves in a highly competitive selection process through their outstanding design talent, excellent academic performance, and strong commitment to community service.

The Dr Ng Tat-lun Memorial Outstanding Students Award Scheme honours students who demonstrate both academic excellence and a dedication to serving society. The success of these two rising design talents is a testament not only to their creativity, perseverance, and hard work, but also to the outstanding efforts of YCI’s teaching team in nurturing the next generation of design professionals. Congratulations to YCI students on this well-deserved achievement. We wish them every success as they continue to use their creativity and passion to design a bright and inspiring future.
YCI設計課程三年級學生招浩弦及二年級學生李曉晴,憑藉卓越的設計天賦、亮麗的學術表現以及對社會服務的熱忱,於激烈的評選中脫穎而出,雙雙榮獲2025-2026年度「伍達倫博士紀念傑出學生獎勵計劃」獎學金!

YCI Engineering Programme Year 3 students Zen Wong and Kinder Cheng, together with two DVE students from YC(Kwai Chung), achieved outstanding results at the 2nd OSH INNO Award with their project, “Smart Escalator Maintenance Safety System (SEMSS)”, earning the Gold Award, the highest honour in the secondary school category.

Recognizing the high risks involved in escalator maintenance, the students integrated classroom knowledge with innovative technology to build a smart safety solution that safeguards the occupational health and safety of frontline workers. The system’s strong technical feasibility, combined with a clear human-centered approach, won recognition from the judges.

YCI will continue to inspire students to pursue innovation and technology, nurturing future engineering talents equipped with both professional expertise and a strong sense of social responsibility.
YCI工程課程三年級學生黃浚庭及鄭建達夥拍兩名青年學院(葵涌)同學,憑藉自主研發的「智能扶手電梯維修安全系統(SEMSS)」,於「第二屆職安健創科大獎」中表現卓越,榮獲中學組最高獎項——金獎。

電梯維修歷來屬於高風險作業,同學針對這一行業痛點,巧妙融合課堂所學的工程理論與現代創科技術,開發出這套兼具實用性與創新性的安全保障系統。SEMSS能有效提升維修工程的數字化管理水平,為前線工人的職業安全與健康構築起智能化防線,其技術的可行性與以人為本設計獲得評審的高度讚譽。

YCI將繼續燃點學生的創科熱忱,培育更多具專業技能與社會責任感的未來工程菁英。

YCI Ice Hockey Star Named Tournament MVP, Powers Hong Kong to World Championship Victory YCI運動學生冰球世錦賽獲全場最佳球員 助港隊奪冠

Competing as Hong Kong’s starting goalkeeper at the IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group B, YCI Sport student Keira Mok stood as the team’s last line of defence and played a pivotal role in securing the World Championship title for Hong Kong.

Her outstanding performances against Mexico and Ukraine earned her back-to-back MVP awards , and she was ultimately named the tournament’s Best Goaltender, the highest individual honor.

Keira perfectly exemplifies the YCI spirit, blending academic knowledge with elite athletic performance, and demonstrating resilience and excellence on the global stage, bringing pride to Hong Kong.
YCI 運動專業三年級生莫曦淋載譽歸來!在「國際冰球聯會女子世錦賽」2B級賽事中,她以港隊主力門將身份出征,「一夫當關」協助香港女子冰球隊勇奪世界冠軍!

作為球隊的最後防線,莫曦淋在面對墨西哥與烏克蘭的兩場比賽中,接連獲頒全場最佳球員(MVP),更以整屆賽事的超卓表現,榮膺大會最高榮譽「最佳守門員」!

莫曦淋同學完美詮釋了YCI運動學子如何將學術理論與實踐結合,憑藉其拼搏不懈的精神在世界冰球賽場上為港爭光。

YCI Design Rising Star Wins Top Honours at Smart Design Global 大放異彩!YCI設計新星榮獲Smart Design Global設計大獎

YCI Design students Lee Hiu Ching Hillary and Chan Kwan Yui Anson impressed judges at the Smart Design Global (SDG) 2026, with their projects “Lai Yuen – Days of Wonder” and “Well-wishing Tree Key Holder” both reaching the finals. Hillary’s interactive calendar project, “Lai Yuen – Days of Wonder”, stood out for its creative storytelling and cultural depth, earning both the Gold Award in the Conceptual Category and the competition’s highest student accolade, the Student Award.

By transforming a calendar into an interactive platform that celebrates the nostalgia and spirit of Hong Kong’s beloved Lai Yuen Amusement Park, the project won high praise from the judging panel from the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association.

In recognition of her exceptional talent, Hillary was also invited to design an exclusive souvenir for the organizer. Her work, “Bloom Mirror ‧ HK”, artfully incorporates traditional flower plate elements and will be presented to overseas visitors at exhibitions in Paris and Bangkok, bringing a distinctive Hong Kong design story to the international stage. This international honour is not only a major milestone in Hillary’s design career but also a testament to the dedication and innovative spirit of YCI’s teaching team.

YCI設計課程學生李曉晴Hillary及陳君睿Anson於「智營薈際2026大賞 (SDG)」中大放異彩,其作品《荔園年華》及《寶碟與繡球》雙雙入選決賽。Hillary憑藉其匠心獨運的互動式日曆作品《荔園年華》閃耀全場,不僅勇奪「概念組金獎」,更獲學生組別最高榮譽「學生大獎」!

李曉晴的獲獎作品將功能性日曆轉化為情感細膩的互動故事平台,完美捕捉並轉譯了香港「荔園」的歡樂與文化厚度,獲得香港出口商會評審團的高度讚譽。

更令人振奮的是,李曉晴因其卓越才華,受邀為大會設計專屬紀念品。其設計《華鏡映港》巧妙融合了香港傳統「花牌」元素,將於巴黎與曼谷的展覽中,作為大會官方紀念品,贈予嘉賓及業內人士,將這份極具溫度的設計推向國際舞台。這項國際殊榮不僅是李曉晴設計生涯的重要里程碑,更是對YCI教學團隊傾注心血、啟迪創新的最佳印證。衷心祝賀Hillary,期待她在國際舞台上繼續綻放光芒,用設計創意說好未來故事!

Technology Changing Lives: YCI Students Showcase Innovation at HSBC SMART Community Hackathon 科技改變世界:YCI學子於HSBC 社區創新大賽展現創意

YCI Engineering and Design students joined forces to make an impact at the HSBC Hong Kong Community Partnership Programme: SMART Community Hackathon 2025, earning praise for their innovative solution and an invitation to showcase their project at HSBC Community Festival at the Central Market.

Combining AI-powered sign language recognition with Digital Twin technology, the team developed “Talk2Sign”, a smart communication solution designed to help individuals with hearing difficulties overcome everyday communication barriers and promote greater social inclusion.

This inspiring achievement demonstrates more than technological innovation. It highlights YCI students’ creativity, empathy, and problem-solving skills. We are proud to see YCI students transforming classroom learning into practical solutions that address real-world challenges and create positive social impact.
在剛剛落幕的「HSBC 香港社區夥伴計劃:社區創新大賽 2025」中,YCI工程課程與設計課程的同學聯手,獲得好評並受邀於中環街市舉行的「滙豐香港社區節」展示其項目成果。

Engineering Students Win Triple Honors at Smart City & STEAM Challenge Cup 2026 工程課程學生於2026 Smart City and STEAM挑戰杯中奪三獎

YCI engineering students showcased outstanding interdisciplinary skills at the Smart City and STEAM Challenge Cup 2026, earning Second Prize, Third Prize, and the STEAM Innovation Award.

The Second Prize and STEAM Innovation Award went to “Greenpulse Park”, a project that transformed cutting-edge technologies, such as microcontroller programming and data analytics, into a highly practical green solution supporting smart city development and sustainability.

The Third Prize was awarded to “Talk2Sign”, an initiative designed to break communication barriers for the hearing-impaired. By integrating AI-powered sign language recognition into digital twin technology, the project promotes social inclusion and creates a new medium for cross-generational communication.

Both projects highlight how YCI students apply engineering expertise with creativity and social responsibility, turning innovative ideas into impactful solutions with strong potential for future development.

YCI Students Excel at World Mathematics Invitational Hong Kong Competition 世界數學邀請賽WMI 香港賽事佳績

Students from YCI’s Engineering and Design programmes achieved outstanding results at the World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) 2026 Hong Kong Competition, bringing home one Silver Award and three Bronze Awards through their exceptional mathematical ability and analytical thinking.

This impressive achievement highlights YCI students’ strong mathematical foundation, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Competing against some of Hong Kong’s brightest academic and STEM talents, the YCI team demonstrated remarkable dedication, perseverance, and composure under pressure, ultimately distinguishing themselves in a highly competitive field.
工程與設計課程學生日前於「世界數學邀請賽(WMI)2026」香港區賽事中大放異彩,憑藉出色的邏輯思維與運算實力,一舉奪得一項銀獎與三項銅獎的佳績。

這項令人矚目的榮譽,充分展現了 YCI 學生紥實的數學底蘊、嚴謹的邏輯推理以及頂尖的解難能力。面對來自全港的創科與學術菁英,參賽團隊憑藉持之以恆的努力與沉著應戰的精神,最終在激烈的角逐中脫穎而出。

YCI Students Shine at 3Cs Awards Ceremony with Multiple Honours YCI學生於3Cs頒獎典禮勇奪多項殊榮

Champion (Chinese) & Most Likes Award 中文組冠軍及超讚大獎
YCI students achieved outstanding results at the 3Cs Awards Ceremony organised by the VTC Languages Discipline, with 14 students from the Design, Engineering and Sport programmes receiving a range of awards, including recognition under the Language and Cultural Ambassador Scheme and the Student Curator Programme. The Awards Ceremony aimed to commend VTC students’ outstanding achievements in various language competitions and cultural activities, and to fully recognise their efforts and accomplishments in language learning and cross-cultural communication.

A particular highlight came from the “My VTC Diaries” Video Creation Competition, where Design and Engineering students claimed four major awards. Combining engineering ingenuity with design creativity, the teams captured Champion and Second Runner-up in the English Category (Elementary Level), Champion in the Chinese Category (Elementary Level), as well as the “Most Likes Award.”

Through compelling storytelling and creative filmmaking, the students brought their vocational learning journeys to life, earning praise from the judges for their strong communication skills in both English and Chinese.

These achievements reflect not only the students’ creativity and dedication, but also the strength of YCI’s interdisciplinary learning approach, which equips students to excel in communication, collaboration and innovation.
在職業訓練局語文學科舉辦的3Cs頒獎典禮上,共有14位來自YCI設計、工程及運動課程的學生表現卓越,榮獲多個獎項,包括「語文及文化大使獎勵計劃」及「學生策展計劃積極參與獎」等,以優秀表現獲得嘉許。頒獎典禮旨在表揚VTC學生於各類語文比賽及文化活動中的傑出成就,充分肯定同學們在語言學習與跨文化交流方面的努力與成果。

其中,YCI設計與工程課程學生更於「My VTC Diaries」短片創作比賽中連中四元。參賽團隊打破學科界限,將工程邏輯與設計美學完美融合,成功包辦英文初級組冠軍及季軍、中文初級組冠軍以及「超讚大獎」四大榮譽。同學們透過鏡頭生動細膩地述說職專故事,無論是流利的英語表達還是流暢的中文敘事,皆贏得評審高度讚賞。

是次佳績不僅彰顯了同學們的創意才華與積極投入的學習精神,更充分展現YCI學生在跨學科協作、語文運用及創新表達方面的卓越實力。

Paddling to Success: YCI Athlete Strikes Gold and Silver at Hong Kong Canoeing Championship 揮槳破浪!YCI健兒於全港公開賽摘金奪銀

At the Hong Kong Canoe Sprint and Age Group Open Championship 2026, Wong King Yin, a Year 2 Sport student, delivered an outstanding performance against a field of top competitors in the Men's 18 and Above Division. Demonstrating exceptional skill, determination, and competitive spirit, Wong powered his way to Gold in the 1,000m event and Silver in the 500m event, emerging as one of the standout athletes of the competition.

His impressive haul of one Gold and one Silver medal is a testament to his unwavering dedication to sport and relentless pursuit of excellence. More importantly, it reflects the resilience, perseverance, and winning spirit that define YCI athletes both on and off the field.
在「2026全港公開獨木舟及立划板短途及分齡賽」中,YCI運動課程二年級學生黃競賢激盪雙槳,力戰高手雲集的「男子18歲或以上組別」,勇奪1000米賽冠軍及500米賽亞軍,成為全場矚目焦點!一金一銀的雙項殊榮,不僅印證了黃同學持之以恆的運動熱忱,更完美展現了YCI健兒拼搏進取的卓越體育精神!
