Introduction

Established by the Vocational Training Council (VTC), the Youth College (International) currently offers three Vocational Baccalaureate programmes: Design, Engineering and Sport. These programmes aim to provide an additional vocational pathway for students who have completed Secondary 3 or above. Graduates of these programmes are eligible to apply for relevant local/overseas degree programmes or VTC Higher Diploma programmes.

To leverage on the state-of-the-art learning facilities of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) and Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), the Vocational Baccalaureate programme in Design is offered at HKDI / IVE (Lee Wai Lee) site, whereas the Vocational Baccalaureate programme in Engineering and the Vocational Baccalaureate programme in Sport are offered at IVE (Tsing Yi) campus. In addition to some specialized learning facilities of the IVE & HKDI, students studying in the Youth College (International) are provided with dedicated classrooms, workshops, laboratories and learning commons. They are taught by professional teaching staff with years of experience working and teaching in the related fields.

With a view to nurturing students to be lifelong learners, active professionals, global citizens and confident team players, the three Vocational Baccalaureate programmes are designed with worldwide recognized qualifications, such as the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations and Business & Technology Education Council (BTEC) Diploma / Extended Diploma. Through the provision of immersive English learning environment and adoption of project-based learning approach, students will be fully engaged in class activities and developed as valuable members of the society who demonstrate self-management, confidence and responsibility.
