Dear Youth College (International) Parents, Students, and VTC Colleagues,Welcome to the first issue of the Youth College (International) Newsletter. The YCI newsletter is a new source of information about our students’ achievements and activities, supplemented with the most recent updates from our graduates and other important information that will not only benefit our students’ personal development, but also provide parents with regular updates on the latest news at Youth College (International). After another difficult year with unprecedented challenges, I would like to start by thanking all our students, their parents, and our staff for their continuous effort in overcoming new challenges and adapting to the new ways of teaching and learning. The pandemic did not stop our students from learning, exploring, and achieving new achievements. In this issue of our newsletter, you will find how our students are coping with the ongoing pandemic with appropriate personal protection measures, and keep participating in extra-curricular activities to broaden their horizons. Our engineering students also made us proud by winning two awards at the Innovation and Technology Festival. As the Latin saying goes, “per aspera ad astra”, or “through adversity to the stars”, I believe with the effort of everyone at YCI, the light at the end of this long tunnel will shine upon us soon. On behalf of everyone in Youth College (International), I wish you and your loved ones a happy New Year and the best of luck in the year 2022. Now, at the beginning of a new year, I hope our students can continue 2021’s good work, participate in more activities and achieve excellence in their own ways. I also encourage the parents, to remain involved in your children’s education, by keeping the line of communication open, by keeping an eye on the latest news at Youth College (International). With your support, I know this year will be a fruitful and successful year for every one of us. With great pleasure and pride, I welcome you to our first newsletter. | 各位青年學院（國際課程）的家長、學生及職訓局同事： 歡迎閱覽青年學院（國際課程）的第一期通訊。本院的通訊為家長及學生提供實用的資訊來源，讓你緊貼本院消息，了解學院動向、課外活動、學生成就、舊生近況以及其他有用資訊。 剛剛過去的2021年為我們帶來前所未有的挑戰。首先，我想向本院各位學生、家長及職員致以謝意，感謝你們在充滿挑戰的環境下，持續克服新的困難，適應學習及教學的新方法。持續的疫情並沒有停止本院學生探求知識，成就卓越。在這期通訊中，你會了解到本院學生如何在疫情環境下，以適當的個人保護措施，繼續參與不同的課餘活動，拓寬個人視野。本院職專國際文憑（工程）的學生亦在「中學生創新創意科技節」中舉辦的創科馬拉松奪得兩項獎項，令我們倍感自豪。「長風破浪會有時，直掛雲帆濟滄海」，疫情終會結束，我期待與各位一道在沒有疫情的環境下工作、學習。 最後，在新的一年開始之際，我代表本院全體職員，祝願大家新年快樂。我希望本院學生可以延續上一年的努力，繼續參與不同的課外活動，在學業與個人發展中成就卓越。我也鼓勵各位家長繼續關注子女的學習，與教師保持溝通，並留意本院通訊中的最新消息。在大家的支持下，我相信2022年對各位而言，都將是充實而成功的一年。 郭龍基 青年學院（國際課程）院長 |
