The programmes are recognised by local and international professional bodies like Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong and Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS).

Health and Life Sciences Discipline hosted the HealthTech Forum 2024. The event brought together over 40 academics, medical professionals and healthcare technology experts from the Greater Bay Area (GBA) to share insights into the development of healthtech and the opportunities for industry talent in the region. An exhibition was held on site to showcase a variety of innovative healthcare technology solutions.
VTC’s Community Engagement Unit (CEU), in collaboration with Health and Life Sciences Discipline of Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) and Design Discipline of Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), as well as Sik Sik Yuen, has jointly developed soft meal dim sum. Students used their VPET knowledge and skills to convey care and love, and to showcase the development of this soft meal dim sum to the community, allowing more people to pay attention to the dietary needs of the elderly and people with swallowing difficulties.
“Smart Dent: AI-powered Oral Health Assessment” brought by the Health and Life Sciences Discipline of IVE. The application utilises deep learning and image recognition technologies to analyse the user’s oral images and assess oral health conditions. Dental hygienists can then provide preliminary dental care suggestions. In addition, there is Dental Simulation Units which is used for teaching purposed.
