Study Arrangement

The first year

Participants will study the full-time Higher Diploma in Automotive Engineering programme at IVE.

The second to third years

Participants will be employed by the participating companies as apprentices. For the second and third years, the employer will sponsor the apprentice to study the Higher Diploma (HD) programme at IVE for one day or one day and one evening per week.


Allowance & Salary*

The second to third years

Participants will receive a total of $30,800 Industry Incentive Allowance and $54,000 government subsidy from their employers and the government respectively. Given a guaranteed monthly salary not less than $9,000#, the total monthly income will be above $10,000.

The third year of training
Monthly salary not less than $9,000# and an average of $2,500& Government Allowance
Monthly average
$11,500 or above
An additional subsidy during second to third year $30,800

*  Mode of issuing subsidy and Government Allowance may vary across trades and industries.
#  For apprentices who join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme on or after 1 April 2024, the guaranteed monthly salary will be adjusted to $10,000.
&  For apprentices who join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme on or after 1 April 2024, they will be entitled to the Monthly Apprenticeship Training Allowance of $1,000 per month during the apprenticeship.

Tuition Fees

 
  • Participants will need to pay the tuition fees for the first year of HD programme.
  • Employers will sponsor the tuition fees for the second and third year of HD programme .
 


Entry Requirement

 
  • Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; or
  • VTC Foundation Diploma (Level 3) / Diploma of Foundation Studies; or
  • VTC Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education; or
  • Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin ; or Equivalent.
