Higher Diploma in Visual Communication (Publishing Design and Print Media)
 

Study Arrangement

The first year (The first 4 semesters)

Participants will study the full –time Higher Diploma in Visual Communication at HKDI.

The second to third years

Participants will be employed by the participating companies as apprentices starting from the fifth semester. The employer will sponsor the trainee to study the Higher Diploma in Visual Communication (Publishing Design and Print Media) programme at HKDI for one day per week.


Allowance & Salary*

The second to third years

Participants will receive a total of $30,800 Industry Incentive Allowance and $54,000 government subsidy from their employers and the government respectively. Given a guaranteed monthly salary not less than $9,000, the total monthly income will be above $10,000.

Monthly salary not less than $9,000 and an average of $2,000 Government Allowance
Monthly average
$11,000 or above
The third year of training
Monthly salary not less than $9,000 and an average of $2,500 Government Allowance
Monthly average
$11,500 or above
An additional subsidy during second to third year $30,800

*  Mode of issuing subsidy and Government Allowance may vary across trades and industries.

Tuition Fees

 
  • Participants will need to pay the tuition fees for the first 4 semesters of HD programme.
  • Employers will sponsor the tuition fees for the second and third year (from semester 5) of HD programme.
 


Entry Requirement

 
  • Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; or
  • VTC Foundation Diploma (Level 3) / Diploma of Foundation Studies; or
  • VTC Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education; or
  • Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin or Equivalent.
