Telecommunications and Networking
Telecommunications and network infrastructure have become a core pillar of societal operations. Although Artificial Intelligence and Data Science technologies are rapidly developing, their application efficiency still highly depends on a stable and high-performance network environment. To meet the growing demand for digital services in Hong Kong, this course systematically cultivates students' professional capabilities in network architecture design, communication protocol management, and system maintenance, with a focus on strengthening the integration and practical application of next-generation communication technologies.

Study Arrangement

The first year: |
Participants will study the full-time Higher Diploma in Telecommunications and Networking at HKIIT. |
|
The second to third years: |
Participants will be employed by the participating companies as apprentices. For the second and third years, the employer will sponsor the apprentice to study the Higher Diploma (HD) programme at HKIIT for one to two days per week. |
Allowance & Salary*

The second to third years |
During the training period, participants will receive a total of $30,800 Industry Incentive Allowance, government allowance under the Earn & Learn Scheme (up to $90,000) and Training Allowance (up to $36,000). Given a guaranteed monthly salary not less than $10,530. |

& For apprentices who join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme on or after 1 April 2024, they are entitled to the Monthly Apprenticeship Training Allowance of $1,000 per month during the apprenticeship.
Tuition Fees
- Participants will need to pay the tuition fees for the first year of HD programme.
- Employers will sponsor the tuition fees for the second and third year of HD programme.

- Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; or
- VTC Foundation Diploma (Level 3) / Diploma of Foundation Studies; or
- VTC Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education; or
- Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin / Diploma of Applied Education; or Equivalent.
