Gas Services Engineering │ Diploma of Vocational Education

With the booming construction industry in Hong Kong and the increasing number of projects in infrastructure, building construction and maintenance as well as redevelopment, the demand for electrical, mechanical and construction talents is continually high, creating career opportunities for young people.

Earn and Learn : Under the Scheme, participants will receive on-the-job training and classroom learning at the same time. A steady income and a recognised qualification are guaranteed
All-round Career Support : One-stop career counselling and placement services
Free Tuition : Free tuition for Secondary 3 to 5 school leavers
Professional Career after Scheme Completion : Upon completion of the scheme, graduates will be entitled to a monthly salary not less than $10,500
Flexible Articulation Pathways : Graduates can pursue further studies to acquire higher qualifications and become a professional in the field



Study Arrangement

The first year:

Participants will study a full-time Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) programme at the Youth College.

The second to Third years:

Participants will be employed by the participating companies as apprentices. Employers will sponsor apprentices to study the relevant part time programme.
 

 

Allowance & Salary*

The first year:

Participants will receive $1,400 subsidy from the employers for a total of 11 months.

The second to Third years:

Participants will receive a total subsidy of $15,400 from their employers, a guaranteed monthly salary not less than $8,000 and maximum allowance of $54,000 from the Government. The total monthly income can reach up to $10,000.

* Mode of issuing subsidy and Government Allowance may vary across trades and industries. A maximum total subsidy of $30,800 from the Construction Industry Council (CIC) will be given to participants of TSS.

Tuition Fees

Secondary 3 to 5 graduates studying the Diploma of Vocational Education can enjoy free tuition.
