Global Hotel Management

The programme aims to prepare students with global mindset in the hospitality industry and equip with conventional hotel operation skills and to nurture creativity and ideation abilities through learning smart technology applications, like hotel visualisation, to cope with the global trends in the 21st century through workplace learning and assessment.

Students will have opportunities to be trained and to learn in different tiers of hotels or other hospitality organisations to acquire relevant industrial competencies throughout the 3 years of studies.

Study Arrangement

The first to third years

Participants will be employed by the participating companies as apprentices. The employer will sponsor the apprentice to study the Higher Diploma programme at IVE for one to two days per week..


Allowance & Salary*

The first to third years

During the training period, participants will receive a total of $30,800 Industry Incentive Allowance, government allowance under the Earn & Learn Scheme (up to $90,000) and Training Allowance (up to $36,000). Given a guaranteed monthly salary not less than $10,780.

The Industry Incentive Allowance will be disbursed in stages during the first to third year of training A total of $30,800

*  Mode of issuing subsidy and Government Allowance may vary across trades and industries.
&  For apprentices who join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme on or after 1 April 2024, they are entitled to the Monthly Apprenticeship Training Allowance of $1,000 per month during the apprenticeship.

Tuition Fees

 
  • Employers will sponsor the tuition fees. 


Entry Requirement^

 
  • Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; or
  • VTC Diploma of Foundation Studies ; or
  • VTC Diploma of Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate; or
  • Diploma Yi Jin / Diploma of Applied Education; or
  • Relevant and substantial work experience and/or prior qualification(s) obtained in or outside Hong Kong (e.g. assessed through recognition of prior learning and credit accumulation and transfer), with demonstrated ability to undertake sub-degree education; or
  • Equivalent.
