Information Technology Discipline

Our programmes cover two key areas: information and communications technology (ICT) and digital media & entertainment technology (DMET).

The ICT curriculum equips students with expertise in developing and administering business and innovative IT solutions, network systems, cloud computing, big data, data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and smart technologies. The DMET stream focuses on core creative industry skills including computer graphics, digital media, virtual reality, interactive technology, computer games and animation, and theme park and theatre creative technology.

Career Prospect

There are many opportunities for technically skilled personnel in the rapidly growing sector of IT and creative industries. ICT graduates are usually hired as programmers, technicians, systems analysts, software engineers, network engineers, information and cybersecurity engineers, or data analysts. DMET graduates are usually hired as digital media developer & producer, streaming and broadcasting developer & producer, computer animators, interactive media programmers and designers, game developers and designers, theme park technical managers, art & cultural centre technicians, audio-visual systems designers and managers. With the IT industry growing steadily in recent years in both local and global markets, the employment rate for IT graduates is very high. The demand for IT professionals at all levels is expected to continue to be strong over the next decade.

Responding to market demands, the programmes offered are widely recognised by industry and professional bodies. All programmes are recognised by the Hong Kong Computer Society as satisfying the academic requirements for its Associate Membership.

professional development. Students can apply and enhance their skills in reality, contribute to the organization and, at the same time, obtain invaluable guidance from their mentors.

We have established partnership with more than 200 companies and organizations which provided a wide range of opportunities to our students including industrial attachment and graduate employment. Highlights

Achieved Outstanding Results at the Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025

The four teams composed of students from our Higher Diploma in Telecommunications and Networking, Higher Diploma in Software Engineering, Higher Diploma in Game Software Development, and Higher Diploma in Cybersecurity won the second prize in the Practice Competition - Computing Track and Innovation Competition as well as the Potential Prize in Computing Track and Cloud Track, showcasing their outstanding technical knowledge, innovation, and teamwork.
