Discipline Overview of Business

Tapping into the opportunities provided by Hong Kong as a world class smart city, Business Discipline aims to nurture talents with multifaceted skills, creativity and inventive mindsets in response to the manpower needs of various business sectors.

 

The Discipline offers a wide spectrum of programmes with module syllabi consisting of state of the art concepts in technology applications, and integrated with Artificial Intelligence (A), Blockchain (B), Cloud Computing (C) and Data Analytics (D) under business operations which allows students to acquire the latest digitalised skills. Furthermore, cross-disciplinary learning opportunities as well as a practical and student-centred curriculum such as Project-based Learning, Workplace Learning & Assessment, Live Commerce and HKVTC Shop are adopted in order to develop students’ 21st century competencies for their further study and career development.  The Discipline also works closely with industry partners to provide valuable learning opportunities through seminars, webinars, study visits and overseas exchange programmes etc.

 

Articulation

 

2+1 International Track

 

Business Discipline Higher Diploma students will be offered an 2+1 International Track which affirms a smooth articulation to a relevant locally accredited, Hong Kong government recognised honours bachelor’s degree programme offered by designated UK universities upon successful completion of their studies and the qualification is equivalent to a local degree programme.

 

Students pursue their full-time top-up degree programmes offered under this 2+1 International Track scheme will receive a non-means-tested annual subsidy of $33,740# from the Government.

Graduates may progress to the relevant THEi Degree programmes or apply for degree programmes offered by local and overseas universities for further studies.
