There are two modes of delivery, namely Part-time (A) and Part-time (B), available for learners to choose from. They consist of different contact and self-study hours. Details are given in the table below.
Delivery Mode | Contact Hour |
Self-study Hour^ |
Total Learning Hour |
Part-time (A) | 30 | 30 | 60 |
Part-time (B) | 18 | 42 | 60 |
^The self-study hours include independent study, pre-class preparation, after-class consolidation practices, teacher consultation, completion of an Enrichment Package, assignment and assessment preparation, and any other forms of self-learning activities assigned by the tutors.
Both modes of delivery produce comparable outcomes for learner participation and knowledge acquisition. For Part-time (B) mode, apart from the 18-hour face-to-face classroom teaching, learners should access the learning content available on an electronic platform for self-learning purposes by referring to the Scheme of Work of the Certificate Programme provided in the first class meeting. Communication tools are available on the electronic platform to facilitate interaction between tutors and learners beyond the classroom. Learners can seek academic support from tutors via the communication tools during their self-study time.
Classes can be
conducted on VTC campuses or at venues provided by individual secondary schools
Tailor-made programme provision
services are available for individual secondary schools with a minimum class
size of 25 learners. Interested secondary schools are welcome to
