To accommodate the needs of the non-Chinese speaking population, the VLPO has specially designed two Cantonese courses, namely Survival Cantonese and Socialising Cantonese,for non-Chinese speakers in Hong Kong.
Course Objectives
Survival Cantonese
At the end of the course, learners will be able to
use common Cantonese expressions for self-introduction;
use basic Cantonese for shopping;
read and write simple Chinese characters (dot,
vertical and horizontal strokes).
Socialising Cantonese
At the end of the course, learners will be able to
use Cantonese to get around Hong Kong;
use Cantonese to order food and drinks in restaurants;
read and write simple Chinese characters (falling, rising
and hook strokes).
