Enriching Vocational Education and Training
The key to our success lies in the quality of our VET
programmes and teaching. During the year, we continued to
innovate and expand the breadth and depth of our VET.
Starting from September 2012, the Technological and Higher
Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) has offered six
VTC’s degree programmes, which are vocationally-oriented in
niche areas of demand by industry. Responding to industry
needs, a number of new HD programmes have also been
introduced.
Building Effective Learning Environment
We at the VTC are committed to maximising student
potential growth through an excellent teaching and learning
environment. In this regard, we devoted much effort to
upgrade our facilities and infrastructure during the year.
Notable examples include the opening of the Wofoo
Foundation Dr Joseph Lee Whole Person Development
Education Centre and BOCHK Financial Services Learning
Centre.
Other major capital projects such as construction of
International Culinary Institute, student dormitory at IVE
(Tsing Yi) and THEi new campus are in good progress.
Deepening our Relationship with Partners
During the year, we also enhanced our collaborations with
industry partners and signed Memoranda of Understanding
with industry partners including the MTR Corporation Limited,
SGS Hong Kong and the Trade Development Council.
Our partnership also took the form of strategic alliances.
During the year, we introduced the “One Examination,
Multiple Certification” System in collaboration with the
Guangdong Occupational Skill Testing Authority, whereby
successful candidates would be simultaneously certified
by the Mainland, Hong Kong and international professional
organisations. With the new system in place, we hope to
boost the professionalism of workers in Hong Kong and the
Mainland, thus contributing further to the manpower and
economic development of our nation.
拓展專業教育培訓
高質素的專業教育培訓課程和師資是我們賴
以成功的要素。年內，我們繼續革新和拓展
專業教育培訓課程的深度和闊度。

月起，香港高等科技教育學院
(THEi)
提供六個由
VTC
開辦的學位課程。此
等課程以專業為本，緊貼業界需求。與此同
時，我們亦開辦了新的高級文憑課程，以配
合行業發展及市場需要。
提供優秀學習環境
VTC
一直竭力締造優良的教學環境，讓學生
盡展潛能成長。我們於年內致力提升教學設
施，例如成立和富慈善基金李宗德博士全人
發展教育中心及中銀香港金融服務學習中心。
其他主要基建項目還包括興建國際廚藝學
院、
IVE
（青衣）學生宿舍和
THEi
新校舍，各項
工程均進行得如火如荼。
深化伙伴協作
本年度，我們與業界伙伴加強合作，當中包
括與香港鐵路有限公司、香港通用檢測認證
有限公司、香港貿易發展局簽訂合作協議。
除此之外，我們亦與伙伴建立策略聯盟。年
內，我們與廣東省職業技能鑒定指導中心合
作推出「一試三證」計劃。透過此計劃，學員
只須通過一個統一考試，便可獲取內地、香
港及國際專業組織三項資歷認證。我們冀望
計劃的啟動，能夠提升粵港兩地人員專業水
平，為行業以至國家人才及經濟發展帶來裨
益。
