Strengthening Our Core Values
On top of taking an international view of our work, we also
devoted great efforts to live up to our core values – nurturing
professionals for Hong Kong and the Region through the
provision of high quality programmes and services. Guided
by our second eight-year Strategic Plan, we have further
enriched our academic programmes and in-service training
offerings to ensure that our graduates are equipped with the
necessary and up-to-date knowledge, skills and competence
needed for success.
Some of the most prominent examples included the opening
of the Technological and Higher Education Institute of
Hong Kong (THEi) in September 2012, offering vocationally-
oriented degree programmes to the first cohort of Hong
Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) graduates,
and the launch of newly designed Higher Diploma (HD)
programmes which promote work-integrated learning through
industrial attachments, placement and projects.
On the in-service front, the professional certificate courses
tailored for catering industry professionals were launched
through the VTC Tao Miao Institute. We also introduced the
Pilot Traineeship Scheme aiming to help youths develop their
career through practical workplace training complemented by
relevant study programmes.
The launch of “One Examination, Multiple Certification”
System in collaboration with the Guangdong Occupational
Skill Testing Authority is another shining example.
Representing the interconnection of vocational skill
assessment schemes, the system marked an important
milestone in the efforts to raise workers’ professionalism
and competitive advantages.
Building the Future
Partnership is always at the heart of the VTC’s work.
Aiming to become a trusted partner of the industries,
we have been forging mutually beneficial and lifelong
development relationships. During the year, we continued
to collaborate with Hong Kong’s chambers, trade
associations, professional bodies and prominent industry
partners to develop a quality workforce and support
industry development. We are delighted to have received
the Best SME’s Partner Award for seven consecutive years
by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Small and Medium
Business.

價值，透過提供高質素的課程和服務，為香
港及區內培育人才。在第二套八年策略計劃
下，我們積極增潤學術和在職培訓的課程，
以確保畢業生的知識和技能與時並進，具備
就業競爭力，邁向成功之路。
2012
年
9
月成立的香港高等科技教育學院
(THEi)
，為香港中學文憑首屆畢業生開辦以專
業為本的學士學位課程，正是一最佳佐證。
此外，新高級文憑課程亦結合工作實習、就
業輔導及專題研習，讓學生能真正學以致用。
在職培訓方面，
VTC
稻苗學院提供專業證書課
程予餐飲業專才。另外，我們又推出見習員
訓練計劃，為年輕人提供在職培訓，輔以相
關進修課程，發展事業。
另一個代表性例子，是
VTC
與廣東省職業技能
鑑定指導中心合作推出的「一試三證」。計劃
不但標誌着專業技能評估機制的互通，更是
提升行業人員專業技術和競爭優勢的一個重
要里程碑。

伙伴協作一向是
VTC
的工作重心。我們向以成
為可靠伙伴為目標，與業界締結互惠的終身
發展伙伴關係。這年來，我們續與香港各商
會、商貿組織、專業團體和主要業界伙伴合
作，發展優質人力資源，以支援業界發展。
我們欣喜連續七年獲得由香港中小型企業總
商會頒發的中小企業最佳拍檔獎。
