I was privileged to become the Executive Director of the
Vocational Training Council (VTC) in January 2013, a time
when it had already achieved 30 years of excellence through
an unwavering commitment to nurturing talent and industry.
It is my pleasure to present this Review, which summarises
the results of the hard work and achievements made by all
members of the VTC community.
30 Years of Excellence
The year 2012 was the 30th anniversary of the VTC. After
three decades of development, the VTC has become a fully-
fledged organisation with more than 5,500 staff and a
student population of 250,000 a year, a profound success
indeed. During the year, a series of commemoratory
programmes under the theme of “Partnering into the
Future” were organised, aiming to raise awareness of the
importance of vocational education and training (VET). We
have to thank all our supporters, friends, students and
alumni who made this year truly spectacular. The celebratory
activities enabled us to further cement our ties with all our
partners.
Today’s youth are tomorrow’s future. Opening opportunities
for students and empowering them to build their strengths
and confidence are our first priority. Last year, we set up
the VTC Student Development Foundation which aims to
provide more than 50,000 full-time students with more
learning opportunities to enhance their job readiness. It
was encouraging that we managed to raise handsome
contributions through a series of fundraising activities.

此多采豐盛的一年，我們實在衷心感謝各界
友好、學生及校友的鼎力支持。而一連串的
誌慶活動，亦讓我們與伙伴的聯繫更形牢固。
今日的青年是社會的明日棟樑，故此，為學
生開拓機會、協助他們發揮所長，建立信
心，是

生提供更多學習機會，提升他們的就業競爭
力。透過連串籌款活動，我們成功籌得可觀
的善款，成績實在令人鼓舞。
