In order to build up a diversified helping approach, different members of a dedicated team across academic discipline is established in campus to provide support to SEN students in different aspect.
Student Counsellor
The Student Counsellor of each campus is the first point of contact for SEN students to access various support services. He/She provides counselling services to students regarding their emotions, peer and social relations, family or financial problems, and also makes referrals for students for resources (in campus or in community) in relation to psychological assessments and treatment, equipment or facility support, financial aid, scholarship nominations and so on.
Class Tutor
Class tutors will be alerted to students' adaptation to the campus learning environment and performance in class. They will assist students in module exemption application, special assessments and technical aid arrangements (if required), and meet students on a regular basis to understand their learning needs and difficulties/obstacles.
Departmental SEN Coordinator
The Departmental SEN Coordinator works closely with the Student Counsellors and class tutors on module exemption, special assessment arrangements, special technical aids and other areas of assistance as appropriate.
Shine Technical Aids and Resource Centre (STARC)
Shine Technical Aids and Resource Centre (STARC) works with the Student Counsellors, class tutors, and the Departmental SEN Coordinators to provide support on equipment and facilities for SEN students to cope with their study and campus life.
