Central Admission Scheme

Applicants may apply for admission to Full-time Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma of Foundation Studies, Diploma of Vocational Education, Diploma programmes through the “Central Admission Scheme”. Applicants will be notified of the offer results on the day of submission of application.
 

Applicants may only register ONE study place and are NOT allowed to change or cancel the study place registered or apply for other programmes before the "Application for Programme with Available Study Places" period. Failure to complete registration procedures and pay the registration fee before the stipulated deadlines will render the study place offered null and void. Please refer to the details as stipulated in the registration documents.

Application Method

Applicants may join the "Central Admission Scheme" via "VTC S6 Admission Portal" for admission to Full-time Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma of Foundation Studies, Diploma of Vocational Education and Diploma programmes. Applicants may also go to THEi / IVE / HKDI / HTI / CCI / ICI / YC campuses in person for joining the scheme and enquiry.

 

Eligibility

Programmes Required Academic Qualifications
Degree
  • Level 3 or above in the HKDSE Chinese Language and English Language; AND
    Level 2 or above in Mathematics and one Elective Subject; AND
    an "Attained" in Citizenship and Social Development; OR
  • Equivalent
Higher Diploma
  • Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  • VTC Diploma of Foundation Studies; OR
  • VTC Diploma of Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate; OR
  • Diploma Yi Jin / Diploma of Applied Education; OR
  • Relevant and substantial work experience and/or prior qualification(s) obtained in or outside Hong Kong (e.g. assessed through recognition of prior learning and credit accumulation and transfer), with demonstrated ability to undertake sub-degree education; OR
  • Equivalent
Diploma of Foundation Studies
  • Completion of Secondary 6 (under the New Senior Secondary Academic Structure); OR
  • Equivalent
Diploma of Vocational Education
  • Completion of Secondary 6 (under the New Senior Secondary Academic Structure); OR
  • Equivalent
Diploma
  • Completion of Secondary 6 (under the New Senior Secondary Academic Structure); OR
  • Equivalent


Remarks :

  1. Holders of Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) (students admitted to DVE in AY2017/18 or before are required to complete prescribed further studies modules) and holders of Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin / Diploma of Applied Education are considered having met the general entrance requirements of Higher Diploma programmes (not applicable to programmes with specific entrance requirement).
  2. Upon completion of the Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate (DVB) programmes, students can progress to Degree or Higher Diploma programmes in VTC, subject to their BTEC and IGCSE results. Students shall pay attention to the specific entrance requirements of some Degree / Higher Diploma programmes.
  3. Some programmes are not applicable to holders of Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) / Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate (DVB) / Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin / Diploma of Applied Education; and some programmes may have other specific entrance requirements. Please refer to the specific entrance requirements of individual programmes.
  4. Applications with work experience and/or prior qualifications submitted will be assessed individually by the departments concerned.
  5. Offering of study place is subject to the applicants’ academic qualifications, work experience and/or prior qualification, interview performance (if applicable), other learning experience and achievements, and availability of study places.
  6. Applicants will only be given one study place through the “Central Admission Scheme”, any change or cancellation of offer given, or to apply for other programmes is NOT allowed before the registration deadline.

 

Application Procedures

Fresh Applicants Applicants who have submitted application
  1. New account registration via "VTC S6 Admission Portal"
  2. Submit application form and pay application fee HK$300
  3. Upload application fee payment receipt (The application fee is non-refundable.)
  4. Join “Central Admission Scheme” to submit a maximum of 2 programme choices, and 1 campus preference for each programme choice

  • If applicant is given an offer via “Central Admission Scheme”, please download “Payment Advice for New Student Registration Fee” and “Notes of Acceptance of Offer and Registration” via "VTC S6 Admission Portal". Please pay the registration fee of HK$5,000 and upload the registration fee payment receipt or the screen capture by 22 July 2024 (12:00 noon) to complete the registration procedure.

Registration
 

  • Each applicant can only register a study place of one full-time programme.
  • Applicants are required to complete registration before the deadline, which include paying a registration fee of HK$5,000 (by Faster Payment System (FPS) / ATM / e-Banking services / Pay at the Bank of East Asia by crossed cheque or cash, etc.). Failure to complete registration and pay the registration fee before the stipulated deadlines will render the study place offered null and void. Please refer to the details as stipulated in the registration documents.
  • Provision of any false or misleading information or failure to provide relevant academic qualification for verification in the application will lead to disqualification without notice and cancellation of any resultant registration. Any fees paid will not be refunded.
  • Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. Classes will be conducted in different modes, including face-to-face teaching, online teaching & learning and practical training as deemed appropriate. Any fees paid are normally not refundable unless the programme is cancelled. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme title, content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant. Application for Programmes with Available Study Places and Transfer Between Offers
 

  • Starting from 1:30 p.m. of 22 July 2024 (Monday), applicants who do not have any offer can apply for programmes which have available study places via "VTC S6 Admission Portal". Applicants who have accepted offer and completed registration procedures, but would like to apply for transfer to another programme OR offering institute / campus / centre, please download and complete the "Transfer between Offers Application Form" and pay the transfer application fee of HK$200 for each application. Academic Year Commencement Date
 

  • For Degree / Higher Diploma / Diploma of Foundation Studies / Diploma of Vocational Education / Diploma programmes, classes will commence on 2 September 2024 (Monday).
  • Classes of Diploma programmes offered by International Culinary Institute will commence in September 2024 and March 2025.
