Programme Stream
Students may choose one of the following streams to pursue professional knowledge and skills in specific areas:
  • Travel Industry Management Stream
  • MICE and Event Management Stream
Semester 1 is common to all students. Starting from Semester 2, students will continue their study by stream till the completion of the programme. The streaming criteria are based on: (i) the number of places available in the offering campus(es), (ii) the choice of students and (iii) their academic performance.
Programme Aims
Higher Diploma in Tourism and MICE (Travel Industry Management):
The programme aims to facilitate students to pursue their careers in the tourism industry. Students will acquire their professional knowledge through a wide spectrum of related subjects, and develop their technical competence through practices in simulated travel agency and industrial attachment.

Higher Diploma in Tourism and MICE (MICE and Event Management):
The programme aims to facilitate students to pursue their careers in the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. Students will acquire their professional knowledge through a wide spectrum of MICE-related subjects, and develop their technical competence through practices in industrial attachment at MICE- or event-related organisations. Students can gain job experiences in the real workplace environment.

The programme is designed with an emphasis on practical job knowledge and skills, generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.
Professional Recognition
The relevant programme is accredited by the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) of UK and the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
