  1. Applicants with higher qualifications, holders of BCC in other streams or those who possess relevant work experience may apply for study exemption for some of the modules.
  2. The actual curriculum hours may be slightly different from the normal curriculum hours due to the electives chosen.

Programme Content
The programme equips registered apprentices with sound technical knowledge and practical skills of lift and escalator engineering. Vocational modules include Engineering Science, Electrical Principles, Motors and Transformer, Single Phase and 3 Phase Circuit, Escalator Installation and Maintenance, Lift and Escalator Examination and Testing, Lift Installation, Lift Maintenance, etc.

Career Prospects
Graduates could be employed as lift / escalator workers in different areas such as maintenance, installation and examination. With relevant working experience, graduates may apply for registered lift / escalator workers.
Articulation
Graduates can further their studies in the Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) programme. Holders of Diploma of Vocational Education are considered having met the general entrance requirements of Higher Diploma programmes (not applicable to programmes with specific entrance requirements). Professional Recognition
The programme is recognized by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the HKSAR Government as meeting the academic requirement for registered lift / escalator worker.
Notes
  1. Most of the modules in the programmes are conducted and assessed in Chinese.
  2. Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.
