Programme Content
The programme equips registered apprentices with sound technical knowledge and practical skills of lift and escalator engineering. Vocational modules include Motors and Transformer, Single-Phase and Three-Phase Circuits, Escalator Installation and Maintenance, Lift and Escalator Examination and Testing, Lift Installation, Lift Maintenance, etc.
Career Prospects
Graduates may be employed as lift / escalator workers in different areas such as maintenance, installation and examination. With relevant working experience, graduates may apply for registered lift/escalator workers.
Articulation
Graduates may further their studies in the Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) programme. Holders of Diploma of Vocational Education are considered having met the general entrance requirements of Higher Diploma programmes (not applicable to programmes with specific entrance requirements). Professional Recognition
The programme is recognised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the HKSAR as meeting the academic requirement for registered lift / escalator worker.
Notes
  1. Most of the modules in the programmes are conducted and assessed in Chinese.
  2. Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme title, content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.
