On-site applications available to Secondary 3 or above students at Youth College Interview Day (24 March)

20 March 2018

Youth College, a member institution of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), will hold the Interview Day on 24 March (Saturday) in Youth College (Kwai Fong) targeting post-Secondary 3 students who can apply for the Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) and Vocational Baccalaureate programmes of their choice on site. Programme interviews will be conducted and applicants will be notified of results on that day.

To help students develop themselves in directions suited to their personal interests, Youth College provides a total of 17 full-time DVE programmes for Secondary 3 to 5 students, including beauty care, hairdressing, mechanical engineering, automotive technology, jewellery arts and design, clock and watch, fitness and sports studies and business. In the new academic year, new DVE programmes in Business Event Operations and Hotel Studies will be provided, offering diversified study options for the youth.

Upon completion of a DVE programme, graduates can seek employment or further study. They can apply for Higher Diploma programmes at other member institutions of the VTC to obtain a higher academic qualification. Graduates applying for specific DVE programmes can join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme that integrates structured classroom learning with on-the-job training, allowing them to earn a stable salary at the same time as studying.

Vocational Baccalaureate programmes will be offered in the new academic year which provide, concurrently, local and internationally-recognised study options for post-Secondary 3 students with English as the medium of instruction and assessment. Students will study modules in IGCSE-level English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics. Referencing international benchmarks, programmes leading to the award of BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma will be offered, and students can choose from the two study areas of Engineering and Design. Lessons will be conducted in the Tsing Yi or Lee Wai Lee Campuses of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) or Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI). Upon conferment of Vocational Baccalaureate programmes, graduates can progress to degree studies in Hong Kong and abroad or higher diploma programmes provided by member institutions of VTC.

The Youth College is a member of VTC Group. The College provides youths of Secondary 3 or above with an interactive learning environment and flexible progression pathways. Programmes offered equip students with knowledge and valuable skill sets, paving the way for further study and employment. The Youth College has 8 campuses which include Kowloon Bay, Kwai Chung, Kwai Fong, Pokfulam, Tuen Mun, Tin Shui Wai, Tseung Kwan O and Yeo Chei Man (near the Po Lam Station).
