Holder of S6 (NSS) Qualification :
Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; OR VTC Foundation Diploma (Level 3) / Diploma of Foundation Studies; OR VTC Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education; OR Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin; OR Equivalent.
Holder of S7 Qualification :
One HKALE A-Level subject / Two AS-Level subjects at Grade E or above AND Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E / Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; or Equivalent.

The programme will provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become competent professionals in mechanical engineering. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will have acquired the necessary academic, technical and management knowledge and skills which enables them to secure employment in the technical / operational / market development and follow-up services functions in the field of mechanical engineering.
This programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.
Graduates are normally employed as assistant engineers, technicians, supervisors, operations staff, technical sales and services officers, safety officers and computer-aided draftsmen in the areas of mechanical engineering, plant facilities repairs and maintenance, aircraft maintenance, theme park, E&M operation and maintenance, testing and inspection, product design, transportation and logistics, technical products services or utilities sectors.
Graduates can apply for admission to the relevant BEng (Hons) courses offered by the following local universities :
Higher Diploma is recognised by most overseas universities.
The Department is negotiating with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in assessing and recognizing our graduates from this programme as satisfying the academic requirements for its Associate membership.
Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.
