Meeting the Special Needs
of Young People
Committed to providing equality
of opportunity to all students, the
VTC continued to offer Vocational
Development Programmes to young
people who might not otherwise receive
the benefit of training opportunities.
About 600 non-engaged youths
participated in these programmes in
2015/16. In collaboration with the
Social Welfare Department, we also
offered about 700 training places
on tailor-made VPET programmes for
residents of the Tuen Mun Children and
Juvenile Home. In addition, we teamed
up with the Correctional Services and
Social Welfare Departments to provide
vocational training courses.
Provision of training to students with
special educational needs (SEN)
serves to prepare them for employment
opportunities or further education.
During the year, about 650 full-time
and 400 part-time places were offered
by the Shine Skills Centre. Separately,
over 1,000 SEN students were enrolled
in pre-employment programmes such
as Degree, HD, Diploma of Foundation
Studies and Diploma of Vocational
Education programmes offered by other
VTC member institutions. Adapted
ApL courses were offered to about
110 senior secondary students with
intellectual disabilities.
Currently, about 20 dedicated
full-time and par t-time VPET
programmes are offered for non-
Chinese speaking students to cater
for their specific needs. About 800
students were enrolled in these
programmes in 2015/16.

會。
2015/16
年度，我們繼續為年輕人
開辦職業發展計劃，讓不同社群同樣享
有培訓機會，受惠的待業待學青年約有
600
人。我們亦與社會福利署合作，編
訂特別設計的職業專才教育課程，提供
約
700
個培訓名額予屯門兒童及青少年
院的院友。此外，我們又伙拍懲教署及
社會福利署，開辦職業培訓課程。
對於有特殊教育需要的學生，我們因應
他們就業或繼續升學的需要給予培訓。
年內，展亮技能發展中心提供大約
650
個全日制及

個兼讀制學額。另外，
