In 2010, HKDI graduate Alan Yip, emerged with flying colours in the design concept category of the Red Dot Award, hailed the Oscars of the design profession. With his showpiece, Birdgazer, he was the first HKDI student bestowed the coveted prize.
Mesmerised with design since a young age, Alan honed his design flair and learned different design specialisms during his HKDI years, affirming his career goals. The Red Dot Award further boosted his confidence in product design and linked him to the industry, enabling him to launch his adventure as a product designer.
