Entrance Requirements
Completion of Secondary 6 (under the New Senior Secondary academic structure) OR Equivalent.
Programme Aims
The Programme aims to deliver a quality education, with vocational and generic elements, that will enable students to achieve both the basic skills required for developing a career in the industry, and a sound academic foundation for further studies. The Programme focuses heavily on communication, in particular English, Chinese with Putonghua and Information Technology, as these areas are particularly important in the workplace. Emphasis is also placed on the development of interpersonal skills and teamwork, and a student-centred approach.
Career Prospects
This Programme equips students with the skills required for employment in the hospitality, tourism, recreation and sports industries and also prepares them for further studies.
Articulation
Graduates of Diploma of Foundation Studies are eligible to apply for VTC’s Higher Diploma programmes, which normally require five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language.
Professional Recognition
Graduates of Diploma of Foundation Studies - Hospitality are eligible to apply for the student membership of Hong Kong Sport Education Association.
