The presentation ceremony of the Dr Ng Tat-lun Memorial Outstanding Students Award Scheme (the Scheme) was successfully held on 2 December.  Established by Dr Ng in 2006, the Scheme not only acknowledges outstanding academic achievements of students but also encourages them to embrace diverse learning opportunities and participate actively in extracurricular activities to expand their professional knowledge.  Its overarching goal is to inspire students to realize their potential and contribute to society.

Among the awardees, two outstanding students, Adelaide and Chelsea, were honoured with the esteemed Alistair Harvey Foundation Scholarship, enabling them to pursue their bachelor’s degree in the United Kingdom.  Another awardee, Lucas, aspired to be a social worker during his VPET study, developed a Smart Watch specifically designed for elderly people with dementia.  Motivated by this experience, he is now pursuing his studies in Social Work with the aspiration of becoming a professional social worker.  Other awardees’ sharing is available HERE.

Throughout its 18 years history, the Scheme has benefitted numerous VTC students, recognizing their outstanding academic performance, community service and whole-person development.  We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support we have received from the late Dr Ng and his family.  Their consistent dedication has played a vital role in the success of the Scheme and its impact on the lives of our students.
