Entrance Requirements
Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; OR VTC Foundation Diploma (Level 3) / Diploma of Foundation Studies; OR VTC Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education; OR Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin; OR Equivalent.
Remarks :
  1. An "Attained" and an "Attained with Distinction" in an HKDSE Applied Learning (ApL) subject (Category B subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" and "Level 3" respectively, and a maximum of two ApL subjects (excluding ApL(C)) can be counted for admission purpose.
  2. A "Grade D or E" and a "Grade C or above" in an HKDSE Other Language subject (Category C subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" and "Level 3" respectively, and one Other Language subject can be counted for admission purpose.
  3. Holders of Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) award upon successful completion of prescribed modules are eligible to apply for Higher Diploma Programmes.
  4. Applicants may be required to attend an interview.
Programme Stream
Students may choose one of the following streams so as to enhance professional knowledge and skills in specific areas:
  • Higher Diploma in Games and Animation (Games)
  • Higher Diploma in Games and Animation (Animation)
The 1st semester is a common semester. Students will progress to the stream in the 2nd semester (provisional), subject to their choice, academic performance and availability of places in specific streams.
Programme Aims
To cope with rapid development of digital entertainment industry in Hong Kong and Asia, this programme aims to equip students with practical knowledge and skill to become professionals for design and development of computer game, computer animation, and visual effects. This is also a unique programme in which students will be able to access cutting-edge computer systems and software to realize their creative ideas for the production of digital entertainment products.
 
The computer game stream designed with modules to develop the competency of graduates in applying computer graphics programming techniques in developing interactive game and training simulation applications.
 
The computer animation stream with modules to enable graduates to become professional computer animators to serve the growing market of computer animated feature film, television and visual effects productions.
 
This programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.
Career Prospects
Graduates may be employed as computer animators, computer game designers and developers, special effect designers, interactive media programmers, 3D modelers / visualizers, web and game programmers.
