Basic Information

This programme offers comprehensive coverage of essential knowledge and practical skills in design and print media. Through hands-on, industry-standard training, students build a solid foundation and a competitive edge to launch careers in visual communication, publishing design, trendy packaging, and digital media production, or to seamlessly articulate into Higher Diploma and Degree programmes.

Core Modules Include: Visual Communication Design, Digital Illustration, Photography & Image Editing, Packaging Structure and Digital Print Workflow Management.

The Medium of Instruction (MOI) is, in the main, Chinese with some modules taught and assessed in English.

Normally 3 semesters during one academic year.
Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme title, content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.

Remarks

DVE students who have not obtained Level 2 or above in HKDSE Mathematics may consider taking the elective module “Mathematics 3E: Mathematics for Further Studies” for the eligibility to apply for VTC’s Higher Diploma programmes which require Level 2 or above in HKDSE Mathematics as one of their entrance requirements.

Remarks

The study duration of Diploma of Vocational Education programmes is normally 1 year. The tuition fee is payable in two instalments. Each instalment is HK$11,410.
In addition to tuition fees, students will be required to pay other fees, such as caution money and students’ union annual fees.
Some students may be required to study bridging modules or enhancement programmes to support their study; or to attend additional training, industrial attachments, public examinations for which separate fees will be charged.
Tuition fees are subject to annual review.
Applicants shall refer to the Government's revised eligibility criteria for subvented study places and subsidies for AY2027/28 and beyond.
