Introduction

The Language Centre was set up as an independent teaching unit in September 1999 to provide language modules (English, Chinese and Putonghua and co-curricular language-learning activities) for students from Departments of Business Services and Management, Information and Communications Technology, Construction, and Real Estate and Facilities Management in Morrison Hill Campus. Through its tailor-made teaching programmes, students are helped to enhance their language proficiency in general and acquire vocational language skills for the workplace.

The Centre is staffed with well-qualified language teaching professionals. With their professional judgement, teachers employed cohesive and coherent teaching materials and strategies to meet students' needs and learning styles. Classes are conducted in various formats, such as lectures, laboratory sessions, group discussions, role-plays, pair-works, presentations, projects, etc.
