Tuition Fee, Scholarships and Financial Assistance

Local students enrolled in VTC’s subvented or self-financed full-time programmes may apply for various financial assistance schemes, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria. Tuition fees are subject to annual review.

Remarks
  1. In addition to tuition fees, students will be required to pay other fees, such as caution money.
  2. All new students are required to pay the 1st instalment of tuition fees and other fees by early August 2026.
  3. Depending on the requirements of individual programmes, students may be required to attend additional training / industrial attachments, for which separate fees will be charged.
  4. Tuition fees are subject to annual review.
Application for Refund of Registration Fee / Tuition Fee for New Intakes
  • All fees paid are normally not refundable, with exception of the following situations (a) or (b):
  1. If the programme is cancelled, the applicant can obtain full refund of registration fees and (if applicable) 1st instalment of tuition fees paid; OR
  2. If an applicant has accepted an offer from JUPAS for (i) a full-time UGC-funded undergraduate programme (programmes offered by HKMU and HKAPA are not UGC-funded), or (ii) an undergraduate programme subsidised under SSSDP, the applicant can obtain full refund of registration fees and (if applicable) 1st instalment of tuition fees paid, with the deduction of an administrative fee of HK$500. Applications for refund in this situation must be submitted before the specified deadline. Late applications will not be entertained.

Refund application together with supporting documents (i.e. notification of offer from JUPAS, receipt / payment record of acceptance fee for the UGC-funded or SSSDP’s full-time bachelor’s degree programme, and receipt of registration fee and tuition fee payment for the VTC programme concerned) must be submitted to the Registry / Campus Secretariat of the offering institute within the above respective refund application periods. Late applications will not be entertained.

  • Students who have completed registration (with settlement of tuition fee of the respective instalment / semester) and wish to withdraw from study should notify the Campus concerned in writing. They may contact the Campus Secretariat and refer to the Student Handbook uploaded to MyPortal for details of relevant procedures (including, if applicable, any refund of the tuition fees of the respective instalment / semester). The Campus Secretariat will handle in accordance with any applicable clauses. For enquiries please contact the Campus Secretariat.
Financial Assistance

Local students of VTC full-time self-financed Degree programmes meeting the eligibility of respective schemes may apply for the following financial assistance schemes from Student Finance Office (SFO):

  • Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS) 
  • Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP)
  • Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS)

Scholarships and Award Schemes

With the generous support of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, industry partners, professional organisations, and individual donors, VTC awards scholarships each academic year to recognise outstanding students and support their whole-person development. Additionally, the HKSAR Government offers the Subsidy Scheme for Overseas Exchange for Post-secondary Students to assist local students enrolled in full-time Higher Diploma or Degree programmes with financial needs to participate in overseas exchange activities.
