Child education, elderly services and social work have been one of the most sought-after disciplines in recent years. Childcare, Elderly and Community Services Discipline provides quality education and training, recognised by the Government and professional bodies. Job History

 

Graduates of the Higher Diploma in Child Care and Education are eligible for registration as kindergarten teachers with the Education Bureau. They are also eligible for registration as child care workers and child care supervisors with the Social Welfare Department.

 

Graduates of the Higher Diploma in Integrated Social and Health Services* are eligible for registration as health workers with the Social Welfare Department. They can serve as health care officers, programme workers and administrative executives in the social welfare and elderly care services industries.

 

Graduates of the Higher Diploma in Social Work are eligible for registration as registered social workers with the Social Workers Registration Board. They can serve as social work assistant or related position in Hong Kong Government or Non-governmental Organisations.

 

Higher Diploma in Special Child Care and Inclusive Education is recognised by the Education Bureau and Social Welfare Department. Graduates can serve as special child care workers to serve children with and without special educational needs and non-Chinese speaking children in kindergartens and child care centres.

 

Graduates of the Higher Diploma in Community Service Planning and Navigation* can work as Project Executive, Project Officer, Community Development Officer, Programme Planner, Customer Services Officer, etc in governmental departments, non-governmental organizations and social and business enterprises.
