Basic Information

The programme aims at helping students to develop, through a balanced curriculum with generic and vocational knowledge and skills, and structured whole person development competencies in the engineering trade so as to enhance their opportunities for employment and/or further studies. The Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Programme covers mainly fundamental artificial intelligence programming and robotic knowledge and skills required in the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics trade. Graduates may choose to seek employment or further their studies.

Professional Recognition

Students who have completed the first year full-time studies and employed as registered apprentices in the relevant trades could be exempted part of the training required. The apprenticeship could thus be shortened, normally up to a maximum of 12 months.
Remarks
  1. For some modules of the programmes, the medium of instruction and assessments is Chinese.
  2. Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme title, content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.

Articulation
Holders of Diploma of Vocational Education (students admitted to DVE in AY2017/18 or before are required to complete prescribed further studies modules) are considered having met the general entrance requirements of Higher Diploma programmes (not applicable to programmes with specific entrance requirements). Please refer to the details of Higher Diploma programmes in this homepage.
Career Prospects
Graduates may be employed as apprentices, engineering assistants and junior programmer in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics trade. They could work in artificial intelligence programming and robotic engineering skills-related jobs and provide technical support to Artificial Intelligence and Robotics trade.

Remarks
  1. DVE students may consider taking the elective module “Mathematics 3E: Mathematics for Further Studies” for the eligibility to apply for VTC’s Higher Diploma programmes which require Level 2 or above in HKDSE Mathematics as one of their general entrance requirements. Students may be required to pay a separate tuition fee for this elective module.

Tuition Fees

Secondary 3 and Secondary 4 graduates will normally be exempted from tuition fee payment for 3 years and 2 years of study respectively.
