Completion of Secondary 3 or equivalent.

Programme Aims
The programme aims at helping students to develop, through a balanced curriculum with generic and vocational knowledge and skills, and structured whole person development competencies in a specific trade so as to enhance their opportunities for employment and/or further studies. The Information Technology Programme covers mainly fundamental IT knowledge and skills. Graduates may choose to seek employment or further their studies.
Career Prospects
Graduates may enter the IT profession at junior level or be employed as technician trainees in industrial and commercial organisations to provide technical support.
Articulation
Upon completion of the first-year full-time study, students can join the Earn and Learn Scheme as apprentices and further complete the Diploma of Vocational Education – Earn and Learn Scheme Programmes with DVE-ELS award in part-time mode. After graduating from the DVE-ELS, the trainee can complete relevant bridging courses to obtain the DVE award.

Holders of Diploma of Vocational Education (students admitted to DVE in AY2017/18 or before are required to complete prescribed further studies modules) are considered having met the general entrance requirements of Higher Diploma programmes (not applicable to programmes with specific entrance requirements).   1. For some modules of the programmes, the medium of instruction and assessments is Chinese.
  2. Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme title, content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.
