Degree

The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers various "Applied Science-Oriented" degree programmes including the self-financing degree programmes and those under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP). In addition, the School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) collaborates with overseas universities to provide top-up degree programmes, offering students even more options for further studies.

Year 1 Entry - Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP)

SSSDP was launched as a new initiative under the 2014 Policy Address to subsidise about 1,000 students per cohort starting from the 2015/16 academic year to pursue designated full-time locally-accredited self-financing undergraduate programmes in selected disciplines.

It has been announced in the 2017 Policy Address that SSSDP would be regularised in the 2018/19 academic year with an increase in the number of subsidised places to about 3,000 per cohort.

THEi offers 11 subsidised programmes under the scheme in 2026/27 academic year. For details, please refer to THEi website.
