The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) is a self-financed arm of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). It offers top-up bachelor degree programmes to VTC’s Higher Diploma graduates and other sub-degree holders in collaboration with overseas universities. |
Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To oversee the supervision of student research projects in providing academic support and advices for developing the knowledge and skills to achieve the highest standard of research outcomes; |
|
(b) |
To coordinate students’ research projects in providing regular feedback on the design, management and analysis of data and information, presentation, content and report; |
|
(c) |
To stay abreast of the latest developments in the programme area through scholarly activities and research and to ensure that these developments are continually reflected in the learning and teaching methods employed on the course; |
|
(d) |
To undertake teaching duties on research skills and methodology; and |
|
(e) |
To undertake a supervision and teaching role independently, including assessment on the Fashion Product Management and Marketing, Global Fashion Responsibility (sustainable practices and circular economies), as well as a Capstone Research Project. |

|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised master’s degree in relevant discipline and/or equivalent professional qualification; |
|
(b) |
At least 4 years’ relevant teaching / work experience in the respective field; |
|
(c) |
Knowledge and experience in the local and international aspects of the retail industry, and with a good understanding of the latest retail trends in developing creative and commercial visions to exploit potential business opportunities; |
|
(d) |
Good knowledge of different kinds of business models and theories for analyzing the current and future trends of the company's position; |
|
(e) |
Experience in buying or merchandising leadership roles within premium or luxury retail environments; |
|
(f) |
Experience in fashion product management, omnichannel marketing strategies, and global sourcing, with hands-on experience in translating consumer insights into commercial product assortments and buying plans; and |
|
(g) |
In-depth knowledge of global fashion responsibility, including sustainable sourcing, circular economy models, ethical supply chains, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks, with the ability to integrate these into both business strategy and student mentorship. |
