    Lecturer (Pet Care and Grooming)
    Health and Life Sciences Discipline

    Major Duties:
    (a) To perform teaching duties, including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement;
    (b) To conduct classes and practical training in pet grooming techniques;
    (c)
     
    To supervise and coordinate staff in performing teaching duties, operating and maintaining training facilities, conducting trade test, and carrying out relevant support duties;
    (d) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
    (e) To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
    (f) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes;
    (g) To implement quality assurance policies including health and safety procedures for training activities;
    (h)
     
    To assist in budgeting, fund control and acquisition of equipment and materials for the
    workshops; and 
    (i)
     
    To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and
    functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.
       
    Requirements:
    (a)
     
    A recognised degree in Health and Life Sciences, preferably in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Veterinary Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, or related field, preferably with a postgraduate qualification; 
    (b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and / or industry experience in animal science or pet care industry;
    (c)
     
    Accreditation as a Class A / B / C Pet Groomer from a recognised professional grooming association would be an advantage;
    (d) Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua;
    (e) Good linkage with the industry would be an advantage.
       
    Notes:
    (1)

     
    Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment.
    (3) The work location is in IVE (Chai Wan). 
    (4) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
