|
Major Duties: |
|
(a) |
To perform teaching-related duties and deliver training courses; |
|
(b) |
To develop and update teaching materials, handouts for students, trainer’s guide and lesson plans; |
|
(c) |
To perform other teaching-related duties, such as attending teaching-related meetings and maintaining the students’ attendance records and result records; |
|
(d) |
To ensure that the quality of training meets the institute’s expectations and the examination syllabus set by the Marine Department; |
|
(e) |
To assist the Principal Instructor in overseeing the operations of the Institute's Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Management System (SMS); |
|
(f) |
To act as Lead Auditor to carry out internal audits for QMS and SMS as required by the rules of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) set for maritime training institutes; |
|
(g) |
To support the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal quality and safety management systems and procedures; |
|
(h) |
To lead industrial and duty visits to gather industry intelligence, technological updates, and best practices; and |
|
(i) |
Participate in safety inspections and routine checks of institute facilities, including the replenishment of first-aid kits and other safety-related inventories. |

|
|
|
Requirements: |
|
(a) |
A recognised higher diploma in Nursing or equivalent; |
|
(b) |
At least 6 years’ relevant experience in hospitals and / or teaching roles with organisations such as Auxiliary Medical Services (AMS), Red Cross, or St. John Ambulance Association, preferably experience in Emergency Nursing in hospitals; |
|
(c) |
A qualified Registered Nurse or First Aid Instructor of the Auxiliary Medical Services (AMS), Red Cross, St. John Ambulance Association or equivalent, preferably with Certificate of Registration (Part I) issued by the Nursing Board of Hong Kong; |
|
(d) |
Good presentation skills and proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; |
|
(e) |
Proficiency in computer software applications; and |
|
(f) |
The ability to pass a trade test. |

The appointee(s) will be required to wear working gear provided by the Institute. |
|
(2) |
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and in designated places as assigned. |
