Major Duties: |
(a) |
To discharge the functions of ODA with respect to apprenticeship training and in accordance with Apprenticeship Ordinance (Cap. 47), including: |

(i) |
To administer apprenticeship training and other schemes regarding the employment and training of apprentices; |
|
(ii) |
To advise and assist employers in the training and employment of apprentices; |
|
(iii) |
To coordinate with other operational units for arranging complementary training to apprentices and monitoring their study performances; |
|
(iv) |
To mentor and coach apprentices; |
|
(v) |
To liaise with internal operation units and external stakeholders (e.g. schools, industries, employers’ associations, and government departments) for the development and promotion of apprenticeship; |
|
(vi) |
To assist Chief / Senior Apprenticeship Officers in conducting complaint investigations and dispute conciliation between employers and apprentices; |
(b) |
To promote, advise and assist employers and apprentices in the engagement of schemes available including Earn and Learn Scheme, Pilot Incentives Scheme for Employers, Youth Employment and Training Programme and Ship Repair Training Incentive Scheme (SRTIS), etc.; |
(c) |
To liaise closely with employers on the development of training programmes, including the design of work-based assessment activities in meeting the training objectives / industry standards, for apprenticeship training pursuant to the specific needs of the trades and workplace settings; |
(d) |
To lead cross-border and overseas visits; |
(e) |
To engage in quality assurance of the apprenticeship training including channelling to relevant stakeholders’ feedback from employers and apprentices on complementary training and WLA activities; and |
(f) |
To undertake other administrative, training, operational and publicity-related duties as required. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
A relevant recognised degree or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification; |
(b) |
Preferably with relevant experience in teaching / industry experience; |
(c) |
Have passion in youth training and development; |
(d) |
Proactive with good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese (fluent in Cantonese, preferably with Putonghua); and |
(e) |
Preferably with mentoring skills and / or probing skills. |
