Major Duties: |
(a)
|
To plan, coordinate and conduct health & safety surveys and assessments for workplaces and premises of the Council; |
(b)
|
To plan, arrange and deliver training and promotional programmes on workplace health & safety topics at the corporate level; |
(c) |
To plan and perform periodic inspections on workplaces, common areas and operations of the campuses and sites; |
(d) |
To assist in health & safety audits for workplaces of the campuses and sites; |
(e) |
To investigate accidents and dangerous occurrences, make recommendations for preventive measures; |
(f)
|
To assist in the implementation of workplace health & safety programmes according to the Council’s health & safety policy and legislative requirements; and |
(g) |
To perform other relevant duties where necessary. |

Requirements: |
(a)
|
A recognised degree in Engineering, Science or Occupational Health & Safety related disciplines, or a recognised corporate membership of the relevant professional institution, or equivalent; |
(b) |
At least 2 years’ professional and relevant experience in Occupational Health & Safety; |
(c)
|
At least 1 year’s relevant post-qualification experience as Registered Safety Officer, preferably in educational institutions or major organisations; |
(d) |
Qualification of Registered Safety Officer under the Labour Department; |
(e) |
Good problem solving, time management and team building skills; |
(f) |
Good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills at all levels; and |
(g) |
Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese. |
