    Term Project Coordinator (Sports and Recreation Management)

    The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. It is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation committed to greening and sustainability. THEi offers over 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology. These programmes integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications cover industries with growth potential in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring that students can apply what they learn effectively. THEi’s undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as well as by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate. By adopting an applied Science-Oriented teaching approach, THEi equips students with professional skills and knowledge to meet various future challenges upon graduation. THEi also collaborates closely with the industry and engage students in active learning pedagogies including a strong emphasis on project-based learning involving real-world problem-solving with and for local industries and professions.

    Major Duties:
    The appointee will be responsible for managing a project related to an AI fitness test initiative in primary and secondary schools.  Key responsibilities include:
    (a) To plan and organise promotional activities for the “STEAM in PE Design Competition”;
    (b) To prepare promotional materials such as handbooks, posters, etc.;
    (c) To plan, organise and coordinate STEAM workshops, semi-final and final pitching sessions, and award presentation ceremonies;
    (d) To communicate with local schools during the project implementation;
    (e) To manage the “STEAM in PE Sharing Platform” at local schools;
    (f) To develop participants’ Skill Passport on AI Coaching Platform;
    (g) To work with participating schools in establishing a “STEAM in PE” Corner to promote AI in sports;
    (h) To supervise the procurement of equipment, AI systems and consultancy services;
    (i) To oversee and report on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs;
    (j) To administer the visit schedule of the Integrated Digital Science Sports Management Centre (IDSSMC);
    (k) To supervise the work quality and manage the work schedule of the Research Assistant;
    (l) To perform teaching duties including the supervision of student projects and fieldwork placements; and
    (m) To carry out any other duties as assigned.
     
    Requirements:
    The successful candidate should have a recognised Bachelor’s degree or professional qualifications in related fields, preferably with a postgraduate qualification; with at least 3 years of relevant experience at an executive or supervisory level, preferably in AI sports event or project management; proven experience in planning and organising inter-school competitions related to AI or sensor-based sports device design, as well as launching digital sports knowledge-sharing platforms; strong networking with local schools; good knowledge of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of digital sports equipment; and knowledge and abilities in project and event management for large-scale projects, research, competition.
         
    Notes:
    (1) The post is at the rank of Term Instructor.
    (2) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
    (3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
    (4) The appointee(s) will work at the Chai Wan Campus.
