    Deputy Director
    Continuing and Professional Education Office

    Major Duties :
    (a) To assist the Director of the CPE Office in providing leadership for the strategic development and operations of VTC CPE programmes and services, concurrently serve as the Senior Associate Principal of PEAK and SHAPE;
    (b) To play a leading role in exploring new opportunities in Hong Kong and the nearby region, formulating and delivering CPE programmes and services meeting the industry needs, as well as ensuring the quality of programmes and services;
    (c) To assist the Director to lead and oversee the overall daily operations of the CPE Office, including but not limited to CPE policy and guidelines formulation, programmes planning, resources allocation and utilisation, fostering multi-disciplinary collaboration, executing internal approvals, and monitoring the implementation and performance;
    (d) To take an instrumental role in formulating strategies and plans to promote the VTC CPE programmes and services, as well as the brand name, in achieving annual targets;
    (e) To establish strong linkages with various stakeholders, including internal and external units, both local and non-local, such as government departments, industry partners, public and private bodies; and
    (f) To assist the Director in overseeing projects in alignment with the Council's initiatives.
       
    Requirements :
    (a) A recognised degree in a relevant discipline and a post-graduate qualification; preferably with relevant professional qualifications;
    (b) At least 12 years’ relevant experience at an appropriate level of responsibility, preferably with not less than 4 years in VPET / CPE field,
    (c) Strong sensitivity to economic trends and business environment, capable of taking forward initiatives for the development of CPE provision, including in-service training programmes, corporate trainings, and consultancy projects;
    (d) Sound understanding of the QA process, QF mechanism and accreditation of in-service training preferably at QF level 5 and beyond will be a plus;
    (e) Good track records of managing changes, organising cross units collaborations within an organisation, and be able to establish linkages with the industries, professional bodies, and other major stakeholders;
    (f) Good experience in project management and implementation of quality assurance policy; experience in leading a team in achieving significant business growth and developing new business will be an advantage;
    (g) Good understanding of the vision and mission of the Council and the development of VPET;
    (h) Willingness to travel for business development and service delivery;
    (i) Able to work under pressure, irregular workhours and to meet pre-determined business targets; and
    (j) Good management, entrepreneurial, interpersonal and communication skills with strong language proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
       
    Notes :
    (1) The post is at the rank of “Head of Department”.
    (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
