Major Duties: |
(a) |
To perform teaching duties, including supervision of students’ projects, musical performances and fieldwork placements; |
(b) |
To carry out duties in relation to student activities and academic administration; |
(c) |
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; |
(d) |
To provide academic counselling; |
(e) |
To assist in the validation and accreditation of programmes; and |
(f) |
To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, projects and functions, including but not limited to music shows, graduation shows, seminars and exhibitions, where necessary. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
A relevant recognised degree, or equivalent qualification, preferably with a holder of a Grade 8 certificate of Piano/ Guitar (ABRSM/ Trinity/ Rockschool); |
(b) |
At least 3 years’ full-time relevant teaching and / or industry experience; |
(c) |
Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; |
(d) |
Relevant experience in pop song production or music performance (vocal / DJ). Proficient with pop song arrangement, composition skills in different genres, and good at operating different Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and equipment. Expertise in pop song multi-track recording and mixing. A pop song production portfolio is required; |
(e) |
Experience in live shows / events would be an advantage; and |
(f) |
Good records of linkage with the industry or solid work experience would be an added advantage. |

Notes: |
(1) |
Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of Part-time (Daytime) Assistant Lecturer, at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. |
(2) |
Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. |
(3) |
The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus. |
(4) |
In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process. |
(5) |
Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment. |
