The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. It is an innovative, professional and entrepreneurial organisation committed to greening and sustainability. THEi offers over 20 professional "Applied Science-Oriented" undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes across six Academic Departments: Department of Food and Health Sciences, Department of Construction, Environment and Engineering, Department of Sport and Recreation, Department of Hospitality and Business Management, Department of Design and Architecture, and Department of Digital Innovation and Technology. These programmes integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications cover industries with growth potential in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring that students can apply what they learn effectively. THEi’s undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as well as by the relevant professional bodies where appropriate. By adopting an applied Science-Oriented teaching approach, THEi equips students with professional skills and knowledge to meet various future challenges upon graduation. THEi also collaborates closely with the industry and engage students in active learning pedagogies including a strong emphasis on project-based learning involving real-world problem-solving with and for local industries and professions.

Major Duties: |
|
The appointee shall engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services. |

Requirements: |
|
For Part-time Lecturer (for undergraduate programme and professional diploma / certificate programme) |
|
The successful candidate should have a recognised Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in horticulture, arboriculture, landscape management, turf management, environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, plant science, geography or relevant disciplines, with at least 4 years’ professional and/or teaching experience at the tertiary level in the related fields. |

For Part-time Instructor (for professional diploma / certificate programme) |
|
The successful candidate should have a recognised higher diploma or equivalent qualification in horticulture, arboriculture, landscape management, turf management, environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, plant science, geography or relevant disciplines, with at least 6 years’ professional and/or teaching experience at the of level of professional diploma in the related fields. |

|
He/she should have good interpersonal and communication skills, and high proficiency in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua. Preference will be given to candidates with membership of professional institutions such as the International Society of Arboriculture. Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage. |

Notes: |

(1) |
Applicants without a Master's degree or equivalent qualification will be considered for the post of Part-time Instructor. |
|
(2) |
The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary. |
|
(3) |
The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. |
|
(4) |
The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus. |
