    Term / Temporary / Part-time (Daytime) Assistant Lecturer (Sport)

    Major Duties:
    (a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement; teaching sports subjects, such as Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition for Physical Performance, Sports Psychology, Business in Sport, Sport and Leisure Facility Operations;
    (b) To assist in carrying out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
    (c) To assist in developing programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
    (d) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes;
    (e) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions; and
    (f) To conduct practical training, including but not limited to the areas of volleyball, basketball, athletics (throwing event), badminton, rope jump, swimming, football, newly emerged sports, fitness and functional fitness.
     
    Requirements:
    (a) A recognised degree in Sport / Physical education / Physiotherapy or equivalent; 
    (b) Preferably with relevant teaching and / or industry experience;
    (c) Preferably with knowledge / experience of BTEC International Level 3 Qualifications; OR with the ability to teach at least two sports among volleyball, basketball, athletics (throwing event), badminton, rope jump, swimming, football, newly emerged sports, fitness and functional fitness; and
    (d) A good team player and able to work on own initiatives and willing to meet challenges.
     
    Notes:
    (1) The post is at the rank of “Teaching Associate”.
    (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (3) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment in English.
    (4) The work location will be Tsing Yi.
    (5) The appointee(s) may be required to work irregular hours or outside normal office hours.
    (6) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
