    Term Research Assistant I / II (Molecular Biology and Plant Sciences)

    The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers 21 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input.  All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies.  In 2020/21 academic year, ten programmes will be included in the HKSAR Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $42,800 to $74,600 per year.  For more information about our Institute, please visit https://www.thei.edu.hk.

    Major Duties:
    The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in conducting research work and experiments related to molecular biology and plant sciences.  He/she will be required to perform experiments to collect data and prepare research reports.
    For the post of Term Research Assistant I, applicants should have a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Natural Science, or related disciplines; or a recognised degree in related disciplines with relevant work experience; or equivalent.
    For the post of Term Research Assistant II, applicants should have a sub-degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Natural Science, or related disciplines; or equivalent level of study.
    Those with hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, cell culture, and statistical analyses are preferred but not essential.  Applicants should have good command of both Chinese and English.  Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
    (1) Candidates may be appointed on part-time basis.
    (2) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties at different sites and work on Saturdays.
    (3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
