    Part-time (Daytime) Tutor (Chinese and Putonghua)

    Course Taught:
    Chinese and Putonghua
    Major Duties:
    (a) To perform teaching duties, including supervision of students’ projects;
    (b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
    (c) To develop programme curriculum and teaching materials; and
    (d) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes.
    (a) A recognised degree in one of the following areas:
      (i) Chinese Language / Chinese Language and Literature / Language Studies (Chinese) / Chinese Linguistics / Education (Chinese); OR
      (ii) Translation / Teaching Chinese as a Second Language or as a Foreign Language.  A transcript with course details should be provided for consideration;
    (b) (i) Grade B, Level 2 or above in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) - Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Commission on Language Work; OR
      (ii) A pass in the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (Putonghua) administered by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) or equivalent;
    (c) Good communication and presentation skills in Chinese;
    (d) Ability to pass a trade test; and
    (e) Relevant work experience would be an advantage.
    (1) Appointees may be required to perform duties at different male Correctional Institutions under Hong Kong Correctional Services Department.
    (2) Appointees will be remunerated at an hourly rate.
