The Laboratory consists of a wide range of equipment related to watch making, testing, and repairing. In addition to the delivery of the timepiece technology modules under the Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, the workshop is also used for the delivery of in-service training programmes for the industry. It is the only outside centre for Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Educational Programme for assessing candidates for A. Hausammann Trust Scholarship. The Institute of Measurement and Control (InstMC), Hong Kong Section, Student Chapter, IVE (Haking Wong) and IVE (Tsing Yi) 4.117 The InstMC, Hong Kong Section, Student Chapter focuses on networking with industries in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland by organising technical visits, workshops, seminars, career talks and membership drive for students of Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Higher Diploma in Computer and Electronic Engineering. Work Inspection Simulation Studio, IVE (Morrison Hill) 4.118 The Work Inspection Simulation Studio provides a simulated construction environment for students to learn various practical inspection knowledge and skills relating to construction works. There are different types of samples for the simulation purpose including Reinforced Concrete Wall, Cable Truss Glass Façade, Structural Steel Connections Mockup, Curtain Wall Mockup, Reinforcement Fixing Model, Defective Concrete Samples, Building System Demo Kit, and Aluminum Window. It also provides inservice training for the industry.
