Introduction

The Business Services and Management Department aims to provide quality and vocationally oriented courses in business elated fields. All courses are relevant to current employment needs and emphasize practical business training using skills and techniques appropriate to modern business environment.

The Department offers courses in the following major areas:

- Business Information Systems
- Transport and Logistics Studies
- Business Promotion and Event Management
- Corporate Administration

To maximize exemption credits for graduates in the pursuit of further academic and professional qualifications, discussions and negotiations with professional bodies and tertiary institutions in and outside Hong Kong are actively undertaken by the Department.

The following are the exemptions granted to some of our courses by professional bodies and the Open University of Hong Kong :

The Hong Kong Association of Accounting Technicians (HKAAT)

All full-time students of our department who have passed the modules 'Business Accounting' and 'English and Communication' in their common first year of study will be granted exemption from Paper 1-(Financial Accounting) and Paper 2-(Business Communication) of the Accounting Technician Examinations.

The Hong Kong Institute of Company Secretaries (HKICS)

Diploma and Higher Certificate in Corporate Administration holders will be exempted from Foundation Programme plus Introduction to Accounting in Pre-Professional Programme.

Certificate in Corporate Administration holders will be eligible to register as student members of the HKICS.

Higher Diploma in Business Information Systems holders will be exempted from Foundation Programme plus Management Information Systems in Pre-Professional Programme.

Diploma in Business Information Systems holders will be exempted from Foundation Programme.

Higher Diploma in Transport and Logistics Studies holders will be exempted from Foundation Programme.

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

Diploma in Business Information Systems holders will be exempted from 4 papers in Foundation Level.

Higher Diploma in Business Information Systems holders will be exempted from 4 papers in Foundation Level plus Systems and Project Management in Intermediate Level.

Diploma in Corporate Administration holders will be exempted from 4 papers in Foundation Level plus Business Taxation in Intermediate Level.

Certificate in Corporate Administration holders will be exempted from 3 papers in Foundation Level.

Higher Diploma in Transport and Logistics Studies holders will be exempted from 4 papers in Foundation Level plus Organizational Management in Intermediate Level

The Open University of Hong Kong(OUHK)

Higher Diploma and Higher Certificate holders of our department will be awarded credits from the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours (BBA Hons) programmes of the Open University of Hong Kong. The details are as follows:
